As Part of Its Annual Program of Research and Field Studies, Phoenix Center Launches the Gaza Strip Health Atlas Project 2023

The health atlas is considered an important source that provides valuable information about health and healthcare in the Gaza Strip. It typically contains a set of maps, charts, and other visual representations of health data that can help public health officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders better understand the community's health needs. Maps are particularly important in health atlases because they allow for spatial visualization of health data and help identify patterns and trends that may not be apparent in tabular data.

One of the most important benefits of using maps is that they provide a geographic perspective on health issues. By displaying health data on a map, patterns and trends can be visualized and analyzed spatially, revealing important relationships between health outcomes, environmental factors, and the social determinants of health. This can help identify areas where health disparities may exist and guide interventions to address them. Maps can also be used to identify areas with inadequate access to healthcare facilities or health services, as well as areas where environmental hazards, such as air or water pollution, may exist. Maps can provide a common language for discussing health issues and help stakeholders identify shared goals and objectives. In addition, maps provide important insights into the distribution of health outcomes and healthcare resources within the community.

This study is supervised by a group of researchers specialized in the fields of social and health sciences, under the supervision of the Research Committee at Phoenix Center.

The work on the health atlas is expected to be completed by the end of next August, when the results of the work and its recommendations will be presented at a conference to be held for this purpose, to which a select group of national, health, and civil institutions concerned with this matter will be invited.
