A Discussion Session Reviewing a Fact Sheet Prepared by Researcher Narmeen Saleh

In cooperation with the Haidar Abdel Shafi Center for Culture and Development, a discussion session was held on Tuesday, 30/05/2023, reviewing a fact sheet prepared by researcher Narmeen Saleh

titled "Challenges Facing Working Women in the Palestinian Labor Market"

As part of Palestinian society's pursuit of achieving equality and empowering women in all fields, an important discussion session was held under the title "Challenges Facing Women in the Palestinian Labor Market." The session featured the presentation and discussion of a detailed fact sheet on this vital matter, with the participation of a select group of researchers and trainers in the field of writing policy papers and fact sheets, and experts in the field of women's rights and development.

The session was opened by Dr. Mansour Abu Kareem, trainer of the training course on writing policy papers and fact sheets, thanking the Haidar Abdel Shafi Center and Phoenix Center for Research and Field Studies for their interest in rising youth and their continued support for them.

During the session, researcher Narmeen presented the paper she had prepared, in which she shed light on the challenges facing women in the Palestinian labor market, and a comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting the assessment of the situation of working women and their role in community development. The paper included a detailed analysis of the gender gap in employment opportunities and income, the challenges of balancing work and family life, and enhancing women's political and leadership participation in the work environment.

The participants engaged with the topic presented, sharing their views and experiences, and put forward innovative suggestions and solutions to enhance women's empowerment in the labor market. They also reviewed successful examples and inspiring experiences from various sectors that contribute to achieving equality and providing fair opportunities for women.

The participants affirmed that this discussion session has a positive impact on raising public and societal awareness, and that it constitutes an incentive to work on improving the work environment and providing equal opportunities for women in the Palestinian labor market.
