Introduction:

More than two years into the war on Gaza — and as part of preparations for the transition to the second phase of the American plan to end the war — the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council calling for the establishment of an international security and stability force in Gaza within the arrangements for the day after the war. This draft is put forward in the context of an attempt at crisis management, securing the reconstruction process, and restoring calm and stability; but it raises numerous questions about its feasibility and its effects on the Palestinian cause and national sovereignty.

This paper seeks to present a comprehensive analytical reading of this draft, shedding light on the opportunities and challenges that Palestinians may face in dealing with it, alongside practical recommendations for formulating an effective Palestinian position.
